Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop curriculum guidelines for nurturing volunteer managers. First, we composed the seven responsibilities and thirty-one tasks based on the job model of volunteer managers. Each responsibility is as follows: A. Volunteer activity planning; B. Volunteer activity linkage; C. Volunteer education and training; D. Volunteer activity support; E. Establishment and operation of regional cooperation system; F. Volunteer Public Relations; G. Administrative Management. Next, we derived 63 competencies (28 units of knowledge, 35 units of skills) required for performing each task and clustered them into the ten subjects, which are as follows: Human and Volunteer Service; Civil Society and Volunteer Service; Volunteer Value and Ethics; Volunteer Program Development and Evaluation; Volunteer Management; Volunteer Administration; Volunteer Leadership; Volunteer Marketing; Social Research Methods; Volunteer Trend and Prospect. Finally, we proposed curriculum guidelines for each subject, including outline, goals, main content, and teaching methods.
