투자 결정 과정에서 재무적 요소와 더불어 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance)를 고려하는 시대적 요구에 힘입어, 임팩트 투자(impact investing) 시장은 크게 성장하고 있다. 임팩트의 경제적 가치 계량화는 임팩트 투자의 결정 과정에서 필수적이다. 본 연구는 준거 연구(anchor study)를 활용한 임팩트 투자의 밸류에이션 가이드라인을 도출하였다. 선행연구에서 제시하는 다양한 위험 요인을 분석하여 중복이 있다고 판단되는 요인은 통합하여 종합적인 위험도를 계량화할 수 있는 위험예방스코어를 산출하고 할인율의 결정 과정을 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 실제 사회적 기업의 데이터를 이용하여 임팩트 투자에 대한 파일럿 밸류에이션을 수행하여, 제시된 방법론이 실제 투자 가이드라인으로 활용될 수 있으며 보다 효율적인 투자의사결정과 임팩트의 관리와 평가를 가능하도록 한다는 시사점을 도출하였다.
Abstract
With the rise of ESG investing, the demand for impact investing is growing significantly. In impact investing, the process of quantifying the impact that an investment will create for investors and investee companies in terms of money is essential for investment decisions. This study analyzes various risk adjustment factors and provides a method to calculate the risk-adjusted score, thus offering a pilot valuation of impact investing of a social company in Korea. In particular, the risk-adjusted score was calculated by quantifying the risk factors that were judged to be overlapping by analyzing various risk factors suggested in IMM(Impact Money Multiplier) and IMP(Impact Management Project). We follow the developed guideline to determine the discount rate used for a pilot valuation and value the impact created by a social venture. The suggested guideline in this study can be used as an actual investment guideline and has promoted more efficient investment decision-making.
