원자력 에너지 정책에 대한 공중의 정보 행동 연구: 개별 감정과 주관적 규범 인식, 정보 행동 경험의 영향을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 위험정보탐색처리(RISP, Risk Information Seeking and Processing, Griffin et al., 1999) 모델을 기반으로, 원자력 에너지와 관련 정책에 대한 개인의 정보 탐색 및 공유 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석했다. 특히 기존 RISP 모델에 ‘이슈 관여도’와 ‘정보 행동 경험’이라는 변수를 추가하여, 원자력 에너지와 같이 장기적인 사회 이슈에 대한 정보 행동에 영향을 미치는 변수 간 관계를 확장 분석하였다. 서울 시민(593명)을 대상으로 수행한 온라인 설문 결과, 기존 RISP 문헌에서 제시된 주관적 규범 인식, 위험 인식, 감정 반응, 정보 불충분 인식, 정보수집 효능감 등의 변인들이 모두 개인의 원자력 정보 탐색 의도에 유의한 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 우리나라 원자력 에너지에 대해 느끼는 감정 반응과 관련해서는, ‘혼란’을 많이 느낄수록 정보 불충분 인식을 증가하는 반면, ‘분노’를 많이 느끼는 응답자일수록 정보 불충분 인식이 오히려 감소함을 확인했다. 또한 정보의 주관적 규범 인식이 높을수록 정보 행동 경험이 높아지고, 높은 정보 행동 경험이 정보 불충분 인식을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 중심으로, 이론적, 실무적 함의를 논의했다.

Abstract

Based on the risk information seeking and processing (RISP, Risk Information Seeking and Processing, Griffin et al., 1999) model, this study analyzed the factors affecting individuals' intention to seek and share information about nuclear energy and related policies. In specific, this study expanded the existing RISP literature by adding variables such as “issue Involvement” and “information behavior experience” to the model, which describes the relationship between variables affecting information behaviors on long-term social issues such as nuclear energy. As a result of an online survey conducted on Seoul citizens (n = 593), individuals’ subjective norm perception, risk perception, discrete emotions, information insufficient perception, and information collection efficacy were found to influence their intention to search for nuclear energy-related information. Regarding the emotional response to nuclear energy in Korea, the more the respondents 'confusion' felt, the higher the perception of insufficient information, whereas the more 'anger' felt, the lower the perception of insufficient information. Also, it was found that the higher the subjective norm perception of information, the higher the information behavior experience, which in turn led to the lower the information insufficient perception.
