개별화 수학교육프로그램이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과

유치원에 재원 중인 남, 여 유아 45명을 선정하여 실험집단 23명(남: 8명, 여: 18명)과 통제집단 22명(남: 9명, 여: 13명)으로 배정하여 6주 간 총 12회기에 걸쳐 실험집단에게는 개별화 수학교육프로그램을 제공하고 통제집단에게는 표준교육과정을 실시하였다. 평가에 기초한 개별화 프로그램 실시 후 실험 집단의 전체 수행향상은 통제집단의 수행향상보다 높았는데 (t = 4.58, p <. 001) 특히 수 개념(t = 3.59, p <. 01), 기초적인 측정과 분류 (t = 3.52, p<.01), 시공간 (t = 3.31, p <. 01) 하위영역에서 집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 6주의 단기적인 실시를 통해서도 개별화 프로그램은 유의한 효과를 얻을 수 있음을 보여주었다.
Abstract
Early childhood is an important period for mathematical ability since it is the period for the development of basic mathematical and logical thinking. This study compared the performance between experimental group(8 boys & 18 girls) who were administered with individualized education program based on assessment for 6 weeks and the control group(8 boys & 18 girls) who were administered with standard education program for preschoolers. It was found that the experimental group outperformed the control group overall(t=4.58, p<.001), especially in math concept(t=3.59, p<.01), basic measurement & classification(t=3.52, p<.01) and visual-spatial areas(t=3.31, p<.01). It was discussed in terms of the effectiveness of the short term intervention based on individualized assessment.
