한국어교육을 위한 신어 조어소 선정 연구 - 신어 조어소의 조어력 및 빈도 추이에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 -
A Study on Selecting Educational Word Constituent of Neologism for Korean Language Learners

This article aims to analyze the Korean neologism in terms of formation and select word bases and affixes from neologism to take advantage of Korean vocabulary education. In these days, the proportion of neologism in Korean native speakers' communication is greater than ever and it is getting even larger recently. Accordingly, it is required to consider teaching neologism in order to enhance Korean language learner's oral communication skill and to improve spoken and written text comprehension. Therefore, this study extracted about 9,000 neologism from 'Open Dictionary' serviced by portal site, 'Naver', and selected word bases and affixes which function as word constituents of Korean neologism. As a result, total 64 were chosen as educational word constituents of neologism for Korean language learners. Almost half of the word constituents of neologism were originated from foreign languages as English and Japanese, and 16 were Sino Korean. Interestingly, unlike general idea, many native Korean affixes show high productivity in forming neologism. The trends of usage frequency were also analyzed to provide information which will help prioritize and grade the word constituent of neologism in the Korean language education.
