기업 및 시장경제 용어의 사용 양상 분석 - 조어 분석과 코퍼스의 공기 분석을 바탕으로 -

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyse the economic terminology based on the corpus using daily newspapers, economic daily, SNS materials, press releases and statement data, research reports, and media discourse transcription as a way of investigating the patterns of terminology. This paper criticizes the previous studies on terminology in that they mainly deal with modification from a Korean linguistic perspective and standardization by expert intuition. This paper insists that the study of terminology should start from observation of language uses regarding to use patterns of individual terms in order to achieve standardization of terminology acceptable to the public. By word formation and co-occurence analyses, this paper attempts to examine the context meaning of illustrated terms in addition to conceptual meaning. However, this paper has a limitation in that it was not accessible to balanced corpus and hence is unable to provide analysis results according to media preference or user group. In particular, it is difficult to guess the user's propensity in Twitter. Except for the newspaper editorial, the media also mainly focuses on reporting facts so it is hardly to conclude that the corpus results of a specific media reflect the character of that media. Nonetheless, this paper suggests a new direction for the future research of terminology through introduction of this methodology.
