Abstract
The rapid diffusion of learning that utilizes smart devices (Smart education) facilitates the acquisition of information and allows knowledge sharing. This research analyzes the adoption of smart education and its diffusion in SMEs based on the Technology Acceptance Model. SMEs are important organizations and they have a meaningful share of national economies. However, existing literature on workplace learning has primarily focused on employees of large enterprises. Thus, it is essential to identify how SMEs adopt workplace learning. Specially, In order to suggest the way of successful adoption, this study compares adoption behaviour of employees and HRD managers, as a learner and a coordinator of learning. The results demonstrate that perceived usefulness is crucial for the adoption. According to comparative analysis, Connectivity, interactivity and personalization, which are important features of smart education, have different effects on perceivd usefullness, ease of use and cost saving for the two groups. In other word, HRD manager emphasize innovative learning system as a reason for adoption, while employees focus on education contents. This analysis provides a useful guide for HRD managers, solution providers, and content providers for the improvement of workplace learning in order to create more value in SMEs.
