초등 문학교육 장르 용어의 통시적 고찰

Abstract

This paper researched the changes of terms representing genres during the period including the 1st to the 2007 Educational Curriculum Revision. After the research, it is founded that the usage of terms representing different genres were every complicated and complex. There were no certain standards to decide the terms; therefore, the writers and compilers tended to use the terms as they choose. In the narrative genre, the terms, including ‘children’s story’, ‘novel’,and ‘tale’ were used without specific standards, and in the lyric genre, the term, ‘children’s poem’ and ‘poem’, were used variously. The reason of this complexity is derived from lack of awareness about children’s literature. Since the writers and compilers did not consider children’s literature to be academic,they used these concepts very temporarily. The terms representing genres, especially terms that are used in elementary literature education, should be unified into one. This paper recommends that it is appropriate to call narrative genre as ‘children’s story’,and lyric genre as ‘children’s poem.’
