This study aims at empirically tracing the genealogy of the heads of the nationwide children’s literature worked at the center in the 1950s - 1960s and reviewing the change in the children’s literature in the process of the faction and integration of a adult literary world. In this process, we could summarize the Children’s Literature Subcommittee having taken a role as a center literary world, the heads of the children’s literature having existed from 1954 to 1960s, and the genealogy of the main officers. The summaries are as follows. First, There were two main parties in the center children’s literature world in the 1950’s: the National Association of Cultural Organization and the Non-National Association of Cultural Organization. They were compatible with each other. On the surface, it seems that both have two committees each and the Korea Association of Children Literature existed as an independent organization, but by looking into the real officers’ members, we could confirm that the Korea Association of Children Literature leaned much more to the Korea Association of Free Writers. Children’s literature writers representing the National Association of Cultural Organization are Lee Won-Soo, Kim Young-Il, and Children’s literature writers representing the Non-National Association of Cultural Organization are Yun Seok-Jung, Kang So- Cheon. Of course, the main stream is the Non-National Association of Cultural Organization. Especially, Kang So-Cheon took a role as the chairman of the Subcommittee of the Korea Association of Writers from 1953 to 1960, and was positioned as a key figure, which represents the overall social situation at the time that children’s literature writers from the Vietnam War was becoming the main stream in the Children’s Literature World in the 1950s. Second, the chairman of the Subcommittee of the Children’s Literature of the Korea Association of Free Writers embraced most heads in the 1950s, new persons began to emerge from the middle-late 1960s. While Kim Young-Il, Lee Won-Soo, Yun Seock-Jung was elected to reflect the intention to place the existing heads representing both sides evenly, the appearance of Bak Hong-Geun, Jung Sang-Muk, Jang Soo-Cheol, Kim Yo-Seop attracted more attention in that they had nothing to do with this framework. Bak Hong-geun went to the Korea Association of Children’s Literature Writers of Lee Won-Soo, and Jung Sang-Muk, Jang Soo-Cheol, Kim Yo-Seop went to the Korea Association of Children’s Literature of Kim Young-Il. They all became key figures of both sides. The biggest feature revealed in this series of process is that the main stream of children’s literature formed a organic symbiotic relationship with Kim Dong-Ri system in the process of growing. This shows that we should have focused on Kim Dong-Ri, the founder of pure literature in studying the process of institutionalization of children’s literature since a divided country. However, the relationship with Kim Dong-Ri was treated within the limited range because this study focuses on the genealogy of heads. By analyzing the detail in an article presented in the children literature magazines, the seminars as well as the complete collection of children’s literature Kim Dong-Ri has constantly involved, the reality of Kim Dong-Ri’s children’s literature discourse should be identified and furthermore, argued about how to communicate with children’s literature writers at the time in order that this casual relationship gets more persuasive.
Abstract
The biggest feature revealed in this series of process is that the main stream of children’s literature formed a organic symbiotic relationship with Kim Dong-Ri system in the process of growing.
