한국 『웅철이의 모험』과 중국 『앨리스 아가씨』의 반제(反帝) 특성 연구

『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』가 발표되었을 당시에 조선과 중국의 아동독자는 각기 식민지・반식민지 상태에 처해 있었다. 따라서 두 작품은 모두 『이상한 나라의 앨리스』 모티프를 차용한 작품들이지만, 『이상한 나라의 앨리스』처럼 천진난만한 주인공이 엉뚱하고 환상적인 모험에 빠지는 이야기가 될 수 없었다. 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』의 작가 주요섭과 천보추이에게는 보다 시급한 과제가 있었다. 그것은 자신들의 작품에 반제의식을 반영하는 것이었다. 식민지・반식민지의 작가로서, 피해갈 수 없는 역사적 사명이었다. 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』에서 반제의식을 반영하는 것은 다음 세 가지로 확인할 수 있다. 첫째, 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』에서는 공통적으로 주인공 웅철이와 앨리스가 제국주의 세력에 맞서 투쟁하는 모습을 묘사한 대목을 찾을 수 있다. 둘째, 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』에서는 공통적으로 불평등조약을 비판하는 대목을 찾을 수 있다. 셋째, 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스아가씨』에서는 공통적으로 비저항 세력에 대한 풍자를 확인할 수 있다. 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』는 모두 『이상한 나라의 앨리스』 모티프를 차용한 작품이다. 그러나 루이스 캐럴과는 다르게, 주요섭은 식민지의 작가였으며 천보추이는 반식민지의 작가였다. 따라서 주요섭과 천보추이는 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』에 반제의식을 반영하게 되었다. 이와 같은 역사적 맥락을고려할 때, 『웅철이의 모험』과 『앨리스 아가씨』의 반제 특성을 연구하는 것은 매우 중요한 과제가 아닐 수 없다. 이를 통하여 서방아동문학과 구분되는 동아시아아동문학의 특성을 이해할 수 있기 때문이다.
Abstract
This paper is focused on Anti-imperialism of Woongchul’s Adventure in Korea and A Little Girl Alice in China. Before I worte a paper to compare the different traits of Woongchul’s Adventure and A Little Girl Alice. And that paper also was focused on grasping the meaning of this two Children’s stories. so this paper is the Follow-up study of that paper. In this paper, We can understand the Anti-imperialism from three aspects between the two works. Firstly, We can find Woongchul and Alice of the two works both participated in the war and fought against the imperialist forces. From the Woongchul’s Adventure in Korea, When ants attacked the butterflies, he helped the butterflies beat the ants and he was won at last. also we can find the same content in A Little Girl Alice in China. When Python emperor wanted to occupy the concert hall, Alice participated in the battle to defend the concert venue. Secondly, we can find The imperialists forced a series of unequal treaties upon Weak forces. we can find the dog country proposed an unequal treaty to the rabbit country in Woongchul’s Adventure. and Python emperor proposed an unequal treaty to the concert venue in the A Little Girl Alice. Thirdly, Two works both are focused on Satiring the non resistance forces. when The dog country proposed an unequal treaty to the rabbit country, the old rabbits just submitted to the unjust treatment in the Woongchul’s Adventure. and the concert venue forces also bowed the neck to the invaders in the A Little Girl Alice.
