단눈치오와 19세기 귀족문화

이 연구는 가브리엘레 단눈치오의 작품 가운데 나타난 19세기 귀족들이 누렸던 계급 문화를 연구하는 것을 목표로 한다. 단눈치오는 19세기말 부르주와 계급의 등장으로 무너져 가는 귀족들의 문화를 지키고자 작품 속에 고대 그리스와 로마 문화의 계승자로서 이탈리아인의 정통성을 회복하고자 했다. 이는 로마의 역사적 유물과 박물관의 예술작품을 배경으로 하여 상징적인 사물들에 의해 표현되었다. 이탈리아의 많은 문화유산 가운데 가장 이탈리아의 정통성이 남아있는 로마를 배경으로 했다는 점에서 작품에 나타나는 배경은 작품에서 오브제로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 이를 통해 단눈치오는 민족 문화의 계승자로서의 정통성을 회복하고자 했다. 단눈치오는 작품을 통해 교양 있는 엘리트 의식을 드러냈다. 작품의 주인공뿐 아니라 배경 인물들이 귀족으로 설정되어 귀족들의 문화를 말하고 귀족들을 독자로 한다는 점은 바로 이러한 소수집단을 위한 문학적 경향이라 볼 수 있다. 『쾌락 Il piacere』은 단눈치오의 기자 생활의 경험을 바탕으로 쓰게 된 첫 번째 소설이다. 첫 장편 소설을 쓰기 시작하면서 이전의 시작품에서 드러내지 못했던 로마의 풍경을 객관적으로 묘사했다. 이것은 고대 로마로부터 르네상스와 바로크풍의 귀족문화로 표현되었다. 이러한 특정 계급의 문화였던 귀족문화를 토대로 19세기 예술의 위치를 고찰해 보았다. 단눈치오는 이러한 이탈리아의 문화유산을 계승할 인물로 귀족의 정통성을 가진 초인을 등장시킨다. 작품의 주인공들에게 나타나는 계급 우월주의를 뒷받침하고 그들의 정통성을 정당화하려는 작가의 의도는 바로 초인이 새로운 시대를 이끌어 갈 이탈리아의 계승자라는 민족주의적 사상을 드러내려는 것이었다. 단눈치오 활동 시기별 작품연구는 19세기 예술 심리학과 사회학의 폭넓은 현상을 반영하는 것이다. 이러한 작품과 연관된 종합적인 미학 연구는 당시의 예술이 하나의 영역에 국한되지 않고 유기적으로 연결되어 문화 예술의 기초가 된다.
Abstract
This is a study of 19th century aristocratic culture in Gabriele D'Annunzio’s primitive novel, Il piacere . He tried to restore the legitimacy of Italians as heirs of ancient Greek and Roman culture in his work to protect the culture of the aristocracy, which was collapsing due to the emergence of the bourgeoisie at the end of the 19th century. It was expressed by symbolic objects against the backdrop of Roman historical relics and works of art in museums. D'Annunzio objectively depict the Roman landscape where the legitimacy of Italy remains, revealing the elements of Arcadia. First, the authenticity of Italy of the protagonist was investigated through arcadian elements. Second, the cultural and artistic positions of objects that appeared in the background were examined. Among them, the works in the Galleria Borghese were studied. These objects are Renaissance and Baroque works of art that reveal the taste of the nobility through paintings and sculptures. Third, through this, the character of the superman who inherited the legitimacy of Italy was studied. These expressions were expressed in Greek mythology and symbols. D'Annunzio tried to find the legitimacy of following the lineage of the Arcadian school through Andrea Sperelli, the main character, in『Il piacere』(1889). The artist's intention to support the class supremacy of the protagonists and justify their legitimacy revealed the nationalist idea that the superman is the successor to Italy who will lead a new era.
