해동사가의 중국체험을 통한 타자인식 변화 연구

18세기 말, 조선조는 개명한 군주 정조의 통치 아래 다채롭고 번화한 문화상을 보였다. 북학파는 북으로 청조의 문물을 학습한다는 ‘북학’사상을 내세우며 청조의 문인들과 밀접한 문화교류를 진행하였다. 이덕무, 유득공, 박제가는 북학파의 핵심성원으로서 청조로 출사하는 기회를 빌어 청조의 문인들과 교류를 하면서 연행록, 연행시가에 유토피아화, 이데올로기화 된 중국 형상을 그려냈다. 그들은 이 형상을 바탕으로 하여 조선조와 비교를 통해 여러 가지 개혁사상들을 제기하였다. 1778년 이덕무와 박제가의 연행을 시작으로 1801년 유득공과 박제가의 연행을 마감으로 모두 4차례 청조에 다녀왔는데 백여 명의 청조문인들과 교유를 진행하였다. 그들의 교유는 중세기 선비들의 끈끈한 유교적 연대감을 보여주고 있지만, 중세기적인 동아시아공동체 의식에서 벗어나 근대적인 민족으로서 자아를 인식하고 각성하는 자각도 보여주고 있다. 본고는 상술한 세 명의 조선 중세문인과 청조문인사이의 교유양상을 중심으로 그들이 각성하고 있는 근대의식에 대해 논하고자 한다.
Abstract
At the end of the 18th century in North Korea, under the guidance of the enlightened monarch, there was a culture of prosperity, even known as the cultural republic of North Korea. The north school, in order to learn from China, has conducted close cultural exchanges with Chinese literati. Lee Duk-Moon, Yu Deuk-Gong and Park Jea-Ga were the important members of the North School, through to the opportunity of China and the Chinese literati multi-party communication, or the utopia of China, or in ideological thoughts as he put forward a lot of reform in China. They made four trips to China, a starting point of Lee Duk-Moo and Park Jea-Ga to China in 1778, and a node of Yu Deuk-Gong and Park Jea-Ga to China in 1801, during the trips, they keep companionship with more than one hundred literati in China. They had not only the plot of “the scholar” of the medieval literati, but also the modern consciousness of awakening. This paper intends to analyze the modern consciousness of their gradual awakening, through the interplay between the three medieval literati of North Korea and Chinese literati.
