Abstract
Chinese blue and white porcelains, which were repaired, were excavated in the excavation research of having been carried out recently in the inside of the Seoul city wall. The repair of porcelains, which were used in the early Joseon period, can be known to be limited to Chinese blue and white porcelains and to have been repaired through the re-firing process. It was confirmed that the relics, which are repaired even out of the majority of Chinese blue and white porcelains of having been used in the city wall, are a very small quantity, and that the criterion of the repair is not either model or pattern. Through diverse approaches to the cause that is shown this special phenomenon, a situation could be grasped as saying of being high in possibility that Chinese blue and white porcelains, which were repaired, might be classified into the government property(官物). Especially, the damaged bowls seem to have been unavoidably repaired and to have been maintained the quantities of government possessions in order to prove that Chinese blue and white porcelains, which were damaged during the use, are the commodities of having been derived from diplomatic relations with the administration of the Ming Dynasty, or that the certain holding amount of the government property, which had been specially controlled by the government office, wasn’t personally taken by government officials. Through this exceptional case, the aim is to suggest even the possibility that the method of managing the government property, which had been made in the early Joseon period, might be formed discriminatively according to the possessed commodities.
