유아의 음운인식과 읽기가 쓰기능력에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 한글의 특성을 고려하여 문해 지도를 실시하기 위해 유아의 쓰기에 영향을 미치는 변인을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 6세 유아 97명을 대상으로 음운인식(음절수세기, 음절탈락, 음절합성, 음절변별, 음소수세기, 음소탈락, 음소합성, 음소변별), 단어 읽기(의미단어 읽기와 무의미 단어 읽기)와 쓰기 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 음운인식, 단어 읽기는 유아의 쓰기 능력과 유의한 상관이 있었으며 쓰기 능력 점수에 대하여는 무의미 단어 읽기와 음소인식 순으로 영향력을 가졌다. 음소인식 하위요인의 경우 쓰기 능력 점수에 대하여는 음소탈락과 음소변별 순으로 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 유아의 문해 지도를 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of phonological awareness, reading abilities on children’s early writing abilities. Ninety-seven 6-year-old children were tested to determine their phonological awareness, word reading and writing abilities. The results indicate that their phonological awareness and word reading were in significant correlation with their writing abilities and that their total writing score was most affected by nonsense word reading, followed by the total of phonemic awareness. For the sub-areas of phonemic awareness, the total writing score was most influenced by phonemic deletion, followed by phonemic discrimination. The effects of each variable on early writing abilities are discussed in terms of their application to education.
