유아의 인지·언어발달 및 어머니의 양육방식과 또래와의 상호작용이 유아의 자아개념에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 유아의 인지‧언어발달 및 어머니의 양육방식과 또래와의 상호작용이 유아의 자아개념에 미치는 영향력을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소의 한국아동패널 6차년도(2013) 자료를 사용하였으며, 60∼66개월의 유아 1,662명과 어머니를 연구대상으로 한다. 연구대상의 인구사회학적 배경과 검사도구의 신뢰도를 살폈다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식을 이용하여 통계처리하였는데 모델의 적합도는 우수하였다. 연구결과, 유아의 인지·언어발달은 유아의 자아개념 발달에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 유아의 인지·언어발달이 유아의 또래상호작용을 매개로 하여 자아개념에 미치는 간접효과도 긍정적 영향을 보이고 있었다. 어머니의 양육방식도 유아의 자아개념에 미치는 영향력은 긍정적이었지만, 어머니의 양육방식이 유아의 또래상호작용을 매개로 유아의 자아개념에 미치는 간접효과는 미미하였다. 또한, 또래와의 상호작용은 유아의 자아개념에 긍정적 영향력을 미치고 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of the children’s cognitive and language development, mothers’ parenting style, and peer interactions on the children’s self-concept. The data of 1,662 children and their parents from the 6st Panel Study of Korean Children, which was carried out by Korea Institute of Child Care and Education in 2013, were used. The data collected were processed statistically by the structural model and the fit of the model was very good. The research results showed that children’s cognitive and language development a positive effected on the development of self-concept of children. and, children’s cognitive and language development by children’s peer interactions mediated indirect effects were showing a positive impact on children’s self-concept. mothers’ parenting style influence on the self-concept of children was positive. The indirect effects of a mothers’ parenting style to mediating the peer interactions on the children’s self-concept was negligible. In addition, peer interactions were having a positive impact on children’s self-concept.
