본 연구는 영유아교사의 실패내성, 임포스터 현상, 심리적 소진의 관계를 살펴보고, 임포스터 현상의 매개효과를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 서울 및 수도권 지역의 어린이집과 유치원에 근무하는 영유아교사 400명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0과PROCESS macro를 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영유아교사의 실패내성은 임포스터 현상 및 심리적 소진과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 보였으며, 임포스터 현상과 심리적 소진 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 확인되었다. 둘째, 영유아교사의 실패내성은 심리적 소진에 유의한 부적 영향을 미쳤으며, 임포스터 현상은 실패내성과 심리적 소진 간 관계에서 부분 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 영유아교사를 대상으로 자신의 능력을 인정하지 못하고성공의 원인을 외부 요인이나 운으로 돌리는 임포스터 현상을 심층적으로 조명하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 또한, 실패내성과 임포스터 현상에 대한 폭넓은 이해를 바탕으로 영유아교사의 심리적 소진을 예방하는 실질적 개입 전략을 마련하는 데 유용한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationships among early childhood teachers’ failure tolerance, impostor phenomenon, and psychological burnout, as well as to identify the mediating effect of impostor phenomenon. A survey was conducted with 400 early childhood teachers working in daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and the metropolitan area. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro. The results are as follows. First, failure tolerance had a significant negative correlation with impostor phenomenon and psychological burnout. A significant positive correlation was observed between impostor phenomenon and psychological burnout. Second, failure tolerance had a significant negative effect on psychological burnout, with the impostor phenomenon partially mediating the relationship between failure tolerance and psychological burnout. This study is significant as it represents an in-depth investigation into the impostor phenomenon, characterized by a tendency to undervalue one’s abilities and attribute success to external factors or luck, among early childhood teachers. Furthermore, it offers valuable foundational data for developing practical intervention strategies to prevent psychological burnout among early childhood teachers, These strategies can provide comprehensive information for understanding of failure tolerance and impostor phenomenon.
