청소년의 자기결정성 학습 동기 잠재 유형의 잠재전이분석

본 연구는 국내 학생의 자기결정성 동기로서 학습 동기 유형이 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교를 거치면서 어떻게 변하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경기교육종단연구 초등패널 3차, 6차, 9차 연도 데이터로, 잠재프로파일분석을 기반으로 하는 수동 3-step 잠재전이분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 모든 학교급에서 5개 프로파일이 발견되었다. 각 학교급에서 낮은 동기형, 전반적 중도 동기형, 중도 자율성 동기형, 높은 자율성 동기형 등 4개 프로파일이 공통으로 발견되었다. 그리고 초등학교에서만 부과된 동기-자율성 동기형이, 중학교에서만 무동기-외적 동기형이, 고등학교에서만 낮은 자율성 동기형이 나타났다. 둘째, 초-중 전이에서는 같은 프로파일 이름이 있으면 해당 프로파일에 머무르는 비율이 높았지만, 그 외에는 자율성이 낮아지거나, 통제성이 높아지는 방향으로 전이되는 양상을 보였다. 그리고 전반적으로 같은 프로파일에 머무르는 비율보다 다른 프로파일로 이동하는 비율이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 중-고 전이에서는 자율성이 비교적 높았던 학생은 자율성이 낮아지는 방향으로 전이하는 비율이 높았으나, 다른 학생은 자율성이 유지되거나 증가하는 방향으로 전이할 가능성이 높았다. 중-고 전이 역시, 같은 프로파일에 머무르는 것보다 다른 프로파일로 이동하는 비율이 높았다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 자기결정성 학습 동기를 장기적으로 분석할 필요성과, 교육적 개입 시 자기결정성 동기 유형의 과거와 현재를 비교할 것을 제언하고, 자기결정성 학습 동기 유형의 전이 결과가 누적되어야 함을 말하였다.
Abstract
This study identified how self-determination academic motivation of Korean adolescence changes from elementary school through high school using manual 3-step latent transition analysis on 3rd, 6th and 9th year data of Gyeonggi Educational Panel Study(GEPS). The results showed five classes at each school level. Four classes were common across school levels: low motivation, overall moderate motivation, moderate autonomous motivation, and high autonomous motivation. Additionally, introjected-autonomous motivation in elementary school, amotivation-extrinsic motivation in middle school and low autonomous motivation in high school were also revealed. In the elementary-middle school transition, many students remained in the same motivation class. However, overall, other students transitioned towards lower autonomous motivation or higher controlled motivation. In the middle-high school transition, students with relatively high autonomous motivation often shifted towards lower autonomous motivation, with other general trends showing increases or stability in autonomous motivation levels. For all time points, more students moved to different profiles at next time point than stayed in the same profile.
