사범대학 다문화교육 강좌의 교육과정과 수업 개발을 위한 질적 다중사례 연구

본 연구의 목적은 향후 중등 교육현장에서 다문화교육을 실천할 예비교사인 사범대학생을 대상으로 한 다문화교육 강좌가 어떠한 교육목표를 지니고, 어떠한 교육내용을 포함하며, 어떻게 효과적으로 조직, 운영, 평가될 수 있는지를 탐구하여 다문화교육 강좌 교육과정 및 수업 개발에 정보와 제언을 제공하고자 하는 것이다. 이에 A 대학교 사범대학에서 다양한 시기와 교육 환경 하에 개설되었던 11개 다문화교육 강좌를 대상으로 질적 다중사례 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 사범대학 다문화교육 강좌의 교육목표 설정, 교육내용 선정과 조직, 운영방법, 평가방법의 측면에 있어 제언이 될 수 있는 주제와 양상이 도출되었다. 먼저 사범대학 다문화교육 강좌는 예비교사가 향후 실천할 다문화교육에 대한 재이해 기회를 제공할 필요성이 있는데, 첫째 동화주의적 관점에서 평등과 공존의 관점으로의 전환, 둘째 소수자 중심의 협의의 교육에서 모든 학생 대상 교육으로의 확장, 셋째 자기문화중심 관점에서 본 타국문화 이해교육에서 타인의 문화적 관점에서 서로의 다양성을 이해하고 존중하는 다문화교육으로의 인식의 전환이 요구되었다. 다음으로 이러한 다문화교육 실천을 위한 예비교사의 교육 역량 증진을 위하여, 강좌는 다문화 역량-교육역량 함양 순서의 조직, 교육 현장의 다양한 다문화교육 쟁점에 대한 학습 및 토론, 이질집단으로 구성된 다문화교육 개발 팀 프로젝트 수행, 교육 현장과의 연계, 문화적 공정성을 지향하는 다양한 평가방식 등을 포함하여야 한다는 것이 제시되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is explore the appropriate educational goals and contents, and effective organization, operation, and evaluation methods required for multicultural education courses at the College of Education, and to provide information and suggestions for the curriculum and instructional development of multicultural education courses for pre-service teachers who will practice multicultural education in the secondary education field. To this end, a qualitative multiple-case study was conducted on 11 cases of multicultural education courses at the College of Education of A University. As a result of the study, themes and patterns were emerged regarding the establishment of educational goals, the selection and organization of educational contents, the operation and evaluation methods of courses. Above all, the multicultural education course needs to provide an opportunity to re-understand multicultural education that pre-service teachers will practice. First, a shift from a assimilationist perspective to a perspective of equality and coexistence, second, an expansion from minority-centered education to education for all students, and third, a shift in perception from a ethnocentric perspective to multicultural education that understands and respects each other's diversity from a cultural perspective of others was required. Next, it was suggested that the multicultural education capabilities of pre-service teachers can be effectively enhanced through organizations in the order of cultivating multicultural competencies-educational competencies, learning and discussion on various multicultural education issues in the educational field, conducting a multicultural education development team project with diverse group members, linking with the educational field, and various evaluation methods aimed at cultural fairness.
