니체의 불교에 대한 논의들은 비극의 탄생(1871)에서부터 인간적인 너무 나 인간적인(1878-1880), 차라투스트라는 이렇게 말했다(1883), 선안의 저 편(1886), 도덕의 계보(1887), 이 사람을 보라(1887), 안티크리스트 (1895), 유고등 거의 모든 저작에서 유럽의 도처에 조용히 확산되어 나갔다. 불교에 대한 니체의 해석과 비판의 내용들은 국내에서도 비교적 많은 연구물들 이 축적되어 왔다. 특히 니체는 안티크리스트의 제 20, 21, 22, 23구절에서 불 교를 기독교와 비교를 통해 두 종교의 기원과 본질적 성격에 대해 보다 상세하 게 구명하고 있다. 니체는 많은 저서에서 불교에 대해 산발적으로 언급하고 있 지만, 안티크리스트에서는 불교의 기원과 본질적 성격에 대해 보다 상세하게 논의하고 있다. 따라서 필자는 니체가 안티크리스트를 중심으로 전개하고 있 는 불교의 허무주의적 데카당스의 종교관에 대한 논의를 고찰하고자 한다.
Abstract
Nietzsche’s discussions on Buddhism range from The Birth of Tragedy (1871) to The Human Too Human(1878-1880), Thus Said Zarathustra(1883), Beyond the Lines (1886), The Genealogy of Morality’(1887), Look at this Man(1887), Antichrist (1895), Yugo, and almost all of his works, spread quietly throughout Europe. The main contents of Nietzsche’s interpretation and critique of Buddhism have been accumulated in Korea. In particular, in Nos. 20, 21, 22, and 23 of Der Antichrist, Nietzsche compared Buddhism with Christianity and explored its origins and essential characteristics in more detail. Although Nietzsche sporadically mentions Buddhism in much of his writings, his Antichrist discusses the origins and essential nature of Buddhism in more detail. Therefore, I would like to consider the discussion on the religious view of Buddhism’s nihilistic decadence, which Nietzsche is developing around Antichrist.
