Abstract

This paper examines how the perceptions of CSR activities of corporate members of overseas subsidiaries in Korea affect organizational performance in an empirical way. In particular, this study seeks to see how CSR perceptions of members within an organization lead to deeper behaviors through companionship among the members of the organization, using the concept of compaction that has not been noticed in domestic academic circles, Within an organization, complements of organizational members arise as a response to the physical and mental suffering experienced by colleagues, subordinates, and supervisors, or to pain caused by interpersonal relationships between colleagues, peers, supervisors, and subordinates. Pain is defined as experiencing the pain that causes ontological nessitude and disgust (Reich, 1989). Examples of such pain include illness or injury, the death of a loved lover, or mental trauma that may occur in the workplace (Harvey, 2001). This personal compilation serves as a source of care and healing for other organizational members in difficulties within the organization (Dutton et al., 2002; Wuthnow, 1991).
