본 논문은 헤겔의 ‘논리학’(Wissenschaft der Logik)이 ‘언어적 전향’을 거친 현대적 논의의 지평 속에서 어떤 의미를 가질 수 있는지를 고찰한다. 크게 의미론 논쟁과 실재론 논쟁의 틀 속에서 진행되는 이러한 고찰 속에서 본 논문은 다음과 같은 결론을 도출한다. 첫째, ‘논리학’은 형이상학적으로 이해될 수 없으며, ‘범주적 존재론’으로 이해되어야한다. 왜냐하면 ‘논리학’에서 고찰되는 범주들은 대상이 무엇인지 의미 있게 말하기 위해 전제되어야 할 논리적 규정들이라는 점에서는 칸트의 선험철학(Transzendental Philosophie)을 계승하지만, 그 범주들은 자기 의식적 통각의 활동에 근거하는 대상 연관적 개념들이 아니라 대상 연관적 표현들의 사용을 규제하는 진술방식들이기 때문이다. 둘째, 일상적 언어 속에 녹아 있는 범주들을 ‘학문적 반성’을 통해 순수 사상의 형태로 재구성함으로써 그 의미를 제공하려는 ‘논리학’은 ‘사변적 의미론’으로 이해되어야 한다. 왜냐하면 ‘논리학’에서 범주들은 직관에 의해서가 아니라 다른 범주들과의 관계 속에서 순수 논리적으로 그 의미를 부여받기 때문이다. 다시 말해 각 범주들은 그 자체 실재성과 부정을 계기로 포함하는 종합적 규정임이 제시됨으로써 그 의미가 주어지기 때문이다.
Abstract
This paper studies the actuality of Hegel's Logic in horizon of comtemporary philosophical discussion which has progressed in debate of semantic and realism after linguistic Turn. And it eventually draws the following conclusions at the end of this paper. First, Hegel's Logic can't be understood as metaphysic, but rather must be read as theory of category. Because what the Logic wishes to give is an account of the determinations of what is. The Logic plainly succeeds to the Kantian transcendental philosophy in that the determinations of thought are the condition a priori by which we come to say that things are what they are. But the determinations of thought as categories are not the conditions of self conscious awareness of objects like Kant, but the ways of predication which regulate the uses of expressions related to things. Second, Hegel's Logic can be understood as speculative semantic in that it rediscovers conceptions ingrained in ordinary language by scientific reflection and reconstructs it in the form of pure thought. Because the meanings of rediscovered conceptions are not enhanced by relation with empirical intuition but in systematical relation of that conceptions with one another.
