『김수영 전집』 발간 의의와 재발간의 필요성

Abstract

The Kim Soo-young's Complete Works was published in 1981. His poems had been influenced by various poetic trends of the times and driven development of Korean poetic literature. His literature has played a role model for the next generation of poets and many scholars have made it as their study subject. However, The Kim Soo-young's Complete Works had not only positive but also negative effects. Though his handwritten manuscripts, the base for the works, showed strong power to overwhelm other works including Play in the Moon Country published when the poet lived and when each poetry was published first time, now its credibility seems impaired. The correction of publishing the poet's Complete Works can be divided into two directions. One is literally to modify the works and the other is to supplement them. To modify the works starts from several problems from his 'handwritten manuscripts'. To supplement them is categorized into verify 20 poems not reflected yet and to judge whether to include them to the Complete Works. When conducting these jobs, Kim Soo-young will be recognized as a role model, contemporary poet and man of letters with great influence.
