Abstract

A Study on Private Investigator’s Job Range and Relationship with Other LawsKim, Sang GyunEven with the recent growth of interest in private policing, very little has been written about the work of private investigators. This is surprising considering their relatively long history and undeniably high profle in popular culture. This article discusses their modern role in the context of four key issues：competence, legitimacy, relationship with the public police and future challenges in managing a diverse policing structure. It describes the services they most typically provide, identifes their principal client groups and refects on how statutory might impact upon their policing and social con-trol. The private security sector encompasses a wide variety of services, including the manufacture and installation of security hardware, static and transit guarding, security management and consultancies and private investigation services. Policing is com-posed of public policing and private policing. Private Investigation system is one of private policing system. In our country, We, Koreans are familiar with private security rather than defnition of private policing. Also, our society have a cognition that private security and private policing have same meaning. But, private policing have a many sub-contents like as private security, private investigation, crime investigation, terror-ism prevention etc in many foreign countries.The plans for development focused on the main subjects related to regulations among the private investigation bills are presented as follows.
