Abstract
The purpose of this study is to verify whether the routine activity theory can explain cyber-crime victimization. This has significance in which there is no theory yet of criminology and victimology available for its cause despite of what the cyber-crime victimization is continuously growing. Also, in light of a point that the weight of cyber space is increasing in modern people's daily life, it implies that a cause for crime on cyber space can be analyzed according to routine activity theory. Explanation variables, which are suggested in this study, are selected with the routine internet use, the security program use, and the illegal internet use. Influential level is grasped by dividing a type in cyber-crime victimization into hacking damage and cyber linguistic violence victimization. As a result of analysis, a case of routine internet utility behavior was indicated that the more utility rate of game and the lower utility rate of social network lead to the more rise in possibility of cyber linguistic violence victimization as for cyber linguistic violence victimization. Even the illegal internet utility behavior was indicated that the lower in illegal copy and transmission of software and the more distribution and preparation in malicious comments lead to the higher possibility of cyber-crime victimization. And, as for hacking damage, the more use of anti-virus program led to the more reduction in possibility of hacking damage. The result was indicated as saying that the more rise in spending for widely distributing and preparing malicious e-mails and for widely distributing and preparing malicious comments leads to the rise in over double of possibility for hacking damage.
