고등학교 유형별 대학생의 학생성공 차이 분석: K대학교 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 고등학교 유형과 대학생의 학생 성공이 어떠한 관계에 있는지를 K대학교 사례를 통해탐색하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대학생의 출신 고등학교 유형이 인지적 성공(학업성취도)과정의적 성공(대학 생활 만족도)에 어떠한 관계가 있는지, 그리고 학년별로 그 관계가 변화하는지를다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과로 첫째, 전체적으로 일반고에 비하여 자율고와 특목고 출신 학생들의 대학 누적 학점이 높게 나타났고, 특성화고･기타학교에서는 대학 누적 학점이 낮게 나타났다. 또한 대부분의 대학 만족도에서 자율고와 특목고 학생의 만족도가 일반고 학생의 만족도보다 높게 나타났으며 특성화고･기타학교에서는 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 학년이 올라가도 계속해서 자율고와 특목고는 누적 학점이 높았고 특성화고･기타학교는 낮은 추세를 보였지만, 고등학교 유형별차이는 좁혀지는 경향성이 있었다. 교육환경과 교육과정 만족도에서도 또한 고등학교 유형별 차이는 1･2학년 때 집중적으로 나타났으나, 3학년 이후엔 그 차이가 좁혀짐을 확인하였다. 본 연구는고등학교 유형별로 대학 진학 이후 학생 성공 간에 차이가 있다는 정책적인 증거를 제시하여 교육정책적 시사점을 제공하였다는 함의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the relationship between high school types and college student success using the case of K University. Specifically, it examines how the high school types attended influences cognitive success (academic achievement) and affective success (college satisfaction), and how this relationship changes across different academic years through multiple regression analysis. The findings are as follows: First, students from Autonomous High Schools (AH) and Special Purpose High Schools (SPH) showed higher cumulative GPAs compared to those from General High Schools, whereas students from Specialized and Other High Schools had lower cumulative GPAs. Similarly, students from AH and SPH reported higher satisfaction levels in most aspects of college satisfaction compared to their peers from General High Schools, while those from Specialized or Other High Schools reported lower satisfaction levels. Second, these trends persisted as students advanced in their academic years, with AH and SPH maintaining higher cumulative GPAs and Specialized and Other High Schools maintaining lower ones, although the differences between high school types narrowed over time. Differences in satisfaction with the educational environment and curriculum were also most pronounced during the first and second years, but these differences diminished by the third year and beyond. This study provides policy implications for high school education by providing evidence that college student success varies according to the high school types.
