미취업 대졸자의 자아탄력성, 직업가치와 구직행동 간의 관계 : 비선형 다층성장모형분석

초록

본 연구는 졸업 후 9개월 시점까지 미취업 상태인 대졸자들의 구직행동 수준이 18개월에 걸쳐 어떻게 변하는지 살펴보고, 자아탄력성과 직업가치가 이러한 변화와 관련이 있는지를 살펴보았다. 성신여자대학교 직업심리 연구팀에서 국내 20개 4년제 대학의 졸업예정자들을 대상으로 6개월 간격으로 4차례 걸쳐 수집한 종단자료를 사용하였으며, 본 연구목적에 맞게 2차, 3차, 4차시기 모두 미취업 상태로 응답한 156명의 자료를 분석하였다. HLM을 이용한 비선형 다층성장모형 분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 구직행동 수준은 2차 곡선의 형태로 변화하는 것으로 나타났는데, 시간이 지남에 따라 증가하다가 졸업 후 5개월 시점에 정점에 도달한 후 정체되었다. 한편, 자아탄력성 수준과 외재적 가치 추구가 높을수록 3차시기(졸업 후 3개월 시점)의 구직행동 수준은 높은 반면, 내재적 가치는 구직행동 수준에 유의한 영향을 주지 않았다. 또한 초기의 자아탄력성과 외재적 가치는 구직행동 변화율과 가속변화율에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 결론적으로, 초기의 자아탄력성 수준과 외재적 가치 추구가 높은 학생일수록 낮은 학생에 비해 처음부터 높은 수준의 구직행동을 보이고, 시간이 지나서도 낮은 학생보다 높은 수준의 구직행동이 유지되는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과와 관련하여 진로상담 장면에서 어떻게 적용할 수 있을지 논의하였고, 제한점과 후속연구의 필요성을 제언하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the longitudinal change over 18 months in job search behavior of graduating seniors who remained unemployed nine months following their graduation. The study also investigated the extent to which this change was related to ego resiliency and work values. This study used a longitudinal data consisting of four surveys at six-month intervals. A hierarchical nonlinear modeling analysis was conducted on a sample of 156 respondents who remained unemployed at the second, third and fourth waves of data. The main findings of this study are as followed. The job search behavior changed following the shape of a quadratic curve. The level of job search behavior had increased until it reached the peak at five months following graduation and then had stagnated. Meanwhile, the level of job search behavior at three month after the graduation was higher for the respondents with higher levels of ego resiliency and with more extrinsic work value. On the other hand, intrinsic work values were not significantly associated with the change of job search behavior. In addition, ego resiliency and the extrinsic work value did not have significant effects on the rate of change or its acceleration. As a result, it is found that those with higher levels of ego resiliency and extrinsic work values maintained a relatively higher level of job search behavior for the entire period. The application of findings in career counseling were suggested. Limitation and suggestions for future study were discussed.
