기독교교육은 세속주의가 추구하는 인간 이해 및 가치에 대한 통찰과 성경적 대안을 제시해야 한다. 현대 사회는 삶을 형성하는 근간들이 대단히 유약해지고, 인간 실존 및 본질의 문제들이 가볍게 다루어지고 있다. 사회과학적 접근의 보편화, 미디어의 성장, 초연결사회로 전환 등의 영향이 더해짐에 따라, 진리·가치·존재에 대한 관점의 변화들은 더 이상 예측이 불가능한 수준에 이르렀다. 물질·경쟁·성장 신화에 압도되어 내면적·영적 본질에 대한 이해가 간과되고 있는 오늘날, 인간―특히, 마음(heart)의 본질―에 대한 성경적 통찰은 필수적이고 긴급한 기독교교육의 과제이다. 마음은 인격의 중추일 뿐 아니라, 기독교 신앙을 형성하는 중심으로써 중요성을 지닌다. 본 논문은 세속적 이성주의가 초래하고 있는 파편화된 인간 이해에 대한 문제제기를 통해, 현대 기독교교육이 내면에 관심을 두고 마음을 재형성하는 교육을 추구하여야 함을 강조한다. 기독교교육은 마음에 대한 성경적 이해를 세우고 회복을 추구하는 훈련의 과정이 되어야 한다. 궁극적으로 갈망하는 존재로써 인간의 본질에 대한 성찰을 토대로 기독교교육이 나아가야하는 방향성을 모색하고자 하였다. 구체적인 방법론적 대안을 제시하기보다 마음의형성을 위한 훈련의 중요성에 주목함으로써 말씀 훈련, 이성(理性) 훈련, 예배 훈련의 의의를 살펴본다.
Abstract
Christian education should offer insights and biblical alternatives to human understanding and values pursued by secularism. Contemporary society is undergoing a transformation of radical perspectives of existence, truth, and values. The very foundations of life are weakened, and human existence and nature are lightly handled. Biblical insight into the essence of the heart is an urgent task of Christian education today, as the physical and material values overwhelm the understanding of inner and spiritual nature. The heart is not only the center of personality, but also of importance as the center forming the Christian faith. This paper emphasizes the need to pursue education that overcomes the fragmented human understanding that is caused by secular rationalism and reforms the heart. Rather than presenting concrete methodological alternatives, this paper examines the meaning of Word training, mind training, and worship training by focusing on the importance of training for the formation of the heart.
