Abstract

God’s Educational Ministry and Understanding aboutthe Models of Faith in Christian educationHwa Seok Yoon(Baek Seok University, Christian education)This article focuses God's Ministry of education in the Bible and an understanding on the historic Christian models of faith under a point of views of Christian education. This paper will first the social assessment about the present Christianity as a religion in South Korea and the church as Christian religious institutions observe rather than the positive side and the negative side seriously(I). My stand is that the biblical contents about the educational Ministry of God is just the educational Ministry of the faith to change the human. The contents of the Bible is the various, colourful story about the process and consequences for whole changing the all people of God with God’s educational ministry of faith. This story needs diverse and multi-layered understanding. From this viewpoint the Bible is "the educational books" that proclaims that God changes a human being according to his will(II). And to escape the form and content of the faith of the secular and individualistic localized older generation and preparing for a new era towards the next generation has raised the new issue of faith. And also for the formation of the lively and full faith of the next generation tries to access on the educational Ministry of God(III). In this paper, as a key approach 'the historical Polemics about the teaching and learning of faith : possibilities and limitations' were discussed in relation to the Christian faith. These is belong to the potential model and the absolute model, and the convergent model. These Models were mainly discussed with the views of the German scholars of Christian education. And this article conclude with the researcher's critical view and direction for the extensive discussions in South Korea in conjunction with this discussion.
