스마트폰을 이용한 효율적인 영화제작 수업활용 방안 연구

Abstract

The smart phone has arguably surpassed the personal computer as the quintessential technological device. The ever-increasing number of smart phone functions has prompted a growing number of industries to actively develop ways to use smart phones as integral tools. Reaching beyond mere telecommunications functions and equipped with high speed internet, it is now possible to shoot in 4K, record sound, edit, and compress video on one palm-sized device. This paper explores the possibilities of using current smart phone technology in film production and as educational tools in the classroom. Specifically, this paper tests whether smart phone hardware can be a viable platform for video capturing and editing through a comparative look at end products produced on smart phones versus those produced conventionally for contemporary film and television media. The research for this paper is based on first-hand experience of using smart phones to produce films in undergraduate production courses. The author of this paper introduced these tools in efforts to understand the effectiveness of smart phone technology for educational purposes, better grasp the limitations of the devices when used for these purposes, and resolve some of the issues that arise while producing videos on smart phones.
