영화<리틀 포레스트>에 나타난 시간의 의미와 그 영화형식적 구현에 대한 연구

본 연구는 영화<리틀 포레스트>에 나타난 킨포크로서의 새로운 삶의 양식을 ‘시간의미와 시간형식’으로 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 상술하면 ‘근대적 시간→자연적 시간’으로의 이행 의미와, 이러한 생명성으로서의 시간이 ‘영화형식적 구현’으로 어떻게 구조화되었나를 살피는 논문이다. 근대문명자본주의는 인간을 삶의 리듬에서부터 분리해 시간을 균질화된 하나의 ‘형식’으로 동일화해버린다. 시계적 시간은 자본주의의 화폐형식과 결합하여 육체노동을 육체자본으로 변질시킨다. 임순례 감독 <리틀 포레스트>는 근대적 시간으로 시스템화된 자본문명을 벗어나 ‘자연적 시간’으로서의 ‘몸체험’ ‘몸감각’으로서의 킨포크문화의 한 양상을 보여준다. 킨포크 문화는 소박함과 일상성과 체험을 중시하는 새로운 문화양식이다. 자급자족으로서의 음식 해먹기. 고향친구들과 함께 농사짓고 먹고 마시며 떠들기. 이 단순한 ‘키워서 먹고 대화하고 소일하기’라는 순수한 자연주의는 기본적인 생태주의로서의 인간본연의 생명주의를 보여준다. 그것은 “생존을 위한 자기방어를 최대한 해제”시키는 과정이다. 문명에 대한 근본적인 거부라는 점에서 생활정치의 한 단면을 보여주기도 한다. 또한 기승전결 4분절 구성은 ‘종말’이라는 3분절 구성, 즉 3막 구성과 구분된다. 그것은 순환과 생명의 영원한 반복이라는 의미와 연결된다. 사계절의 반복과 농사 짓는 인간과의 유비관계는 근대적 시간에서 몸의 시간으로 변이되는 과정을 드러낸다. 그럼에도 대안생활정치로서 킨포크적 삶, 자급자족으로서 삶을 선택한 혜원의 삶의 양식은 영화적 한계, 즉 이미지로서의 삶에 머무를 수 있다. ‘보여주기’라는 영화장르적 특징상 세련되고 아름다운 음식 이미지와 시골풍광은 현실적 삶과는 괴리를 보여주기 때문이다. 다만 영화를 통해 간접적으로 맛볼 수 있는 소박함, 한가한 여유, 음식이 주는 따뜻한 가치는 생존주의 현실을 벗어날 수 있는 잠깐의 ‘위안’이 될 수 있다.
Abstract
In terms of the meaning and form of time, this study aims to explore the lifestyle of kinfolk, which is shown in the film LittleForest.Toputitindetail,itexploresthesignificanceofthetransitionfrom“moderntimetonaturaltime”andthemannerinwhichsuchtimeaslifeisstructuredasaformalembodiment. The capitalism of modern civilization separates humans from the rhythm of life and identifies time with a homogenous form. Clock time is combined with the currency form of capitalism and changes physical labor into physical capital. Little Forest directed by Soon-rye Yim shows an aspect of kinfolk culture that breaks away from capital civilization systemized by modern time and allows one to experience the senses of the body in natural time. Kinfolk culture is a new cultural style which values simplicity, daily life, and experience. The pure naturalism of raising, eating, talking, and having free time, that is to say, making and eating food through self-sufficiency, and farming, eating, drinking, and chatting with hometown friends, shows the natural lifeism of humans, a radical ecology. It is a process of eliminating the need for self-defense for survival to the extent possible. It also demonstrates an aspect of life politics in the sense that it is the fundamental refusal of civilization. Additionally, the composition of the four steps namely, introduction, development, turn, and conclusion, differs from the composition of the three segments of which the last phase is the end. It is related to the meaning of circulation and the permanent repetition of life. The analogical relationship between the four-season repetition and humans who do farming reveals the Nevertheless, the lifestyle of Hyewon who choose kinfolk and the self-sufficient lifestyles as alternative life politics appears to be , namely, the limitation of the film. The sophisticated and beautiful pictures of food and rural sceneries that are the result of displaying the characteristics of the film genre create gaps between realities. However, the sentimental value produced by the indirect experiences of simplicity, leisurely relaxation, and food from the movie offers a temporary comfort for the audience to escape from the reality of.
