부산소형영화운동: 1970년대부터 1980년대까지를 중심으로

Abstract

Busan Small Gauge Film Movement is a film movement that Busan citizens created and consumed the movie with 8mm and 16mm cameras. Furthermore, they contributed to the local film's development as making the public have interests on the film-making. The film movement started from the individual enjoyed watching the small gauge film in the mid-1960s and showed the group work after Busan Small Gauge Film Club was established in 1970. And the film movement's popularity was gradually declined on the advent of the video's era and the TV's popularity. At the point of insufficient academic discussions in terms of Busan Small Gauge Film Movement, this study examined the film movement's influence and significance on Busan Film History with the reference and the interview. The film movement from the 1970s to the 1980s was described chronologically on the historical point of view, and I found the two things. First, Busan Small Gauge Film Movement spontaneously founded by the Busan citizen regardless of film makers in Seoul as showing a form of the Film of Living which Image Creation Culture was consumed in the public's living, so the position of the public was promoted from the consumer to the producer. Second, 'Small Gauge Film' and 'Short Film' were overlapped and somewhat mixed from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, and in the period Busan Gauge Film Movement became the foundation on the establishment of the first Korea Short Film Festival.
