이 논문은 양적 연구와 질적 연구의 혼합방법인 개념도 연구법의 유용성과 그 연구절차에대해 고찰함으로써 개념도 연구법의 활성화를 꾀하고, 이 방법을 사용하고자 하는 연구자들에게 이해의 지평을 여는데 일조할 목적으로 작성되었다. 이 논문을 통해 개념도 연구법은 연구자의 편견을 최소화하고 연구 참여자의 관점과 경험을 이해하고자 할 때, 효율적이고 수평적인의사결정을 촉진하고 결과에 대한 의사소통을 편리하게 하고자 할 때, 참조자료나 이론체계가부족한 분야에서 탐색하고자 할 때, 대다수의 사람들이 공통적으로 경험하는 보편적 현상뿐만아니라 특정 현상에 대한 개인의 독특한 경험과 인식을 밝히고자 할 때, 프로그램이나 척도를개발하고자 할 때, 그리고 위계적 군집분석이나 다차원 척도법과 같은 통계방법을 적용하여 연구자의 통찰에 양적 근거를 제공하고 결과를 다각도로 제시하고자 할 때 유용하다는 점을 밝혔다. 또한 이 논문을 통해 개념도 연구법이 개념도를 위한 준비 → 아이디어 산출 → 진술문의 구조화 → 개념도 분석 → 개념도 해석→ 개념도 활용의 여섯 단계로 진행되는데, 각 단계별로 수행해야 할 절차와 내용이 무엇인지 구체적으로 제시하였다. 그리고 양적 연구와 질적연구의 각 단점을 보완하고 각 장점을 살리기 위한 혼합 연구의 성격을 띤 개념도 연구법이휴먼서비스가 강조될 수밖에 없는 제4차 산업혁명 시대에서 여러 학문 분야에 걸쳐 프로그램기획 및 평가에서의 활용이 증대될 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study investigates the usefulness of concept mapping, which is a method that companies quantitative and qualitative research, and its research procedures to search for ways to activate concept mapping, and aims at contributing to broadening the horizons for understanding to researchers intending to use this method. This study revealed that concept mapping is useful when attempting to minimize researcher bias and to understand the perspective and experience of research participants; when attempting to promote efficient and horizontal decision-making and to make communication on results more convenient; when attempting to explore fields with insufficient references or theoretical systems; when attempting reveal not only the universal phenomena experienced jointly by most people, but also the unique experiences and perception of individuals for specific phenomena; when attempting to develop programs or scales; and when attempting to apply statistical methods such as hierarchical cluster analysis or multi-dimensional scaling to provide quantitative bases for the researcher’s observations to present results from various angles. Furthermore, in this study, concept mapping was carried out through the six stages of ① preparation for the concept map, ② generating ideas), ③ structuring the statement, ④ analysis of maps, ⑤ interpretation of maps, and ⑥ utilization of maps. The procedures and contents to be carried out for each stage were presented in detail. Also, it was suggested that the use of concept mapping, which is a type of combined research that supplements the weaknesses and maximizes the advantages of quantitative and qualitative research, should be increased in program planning and evaluation across various academic sectors in the age of the fourth industrial revolution where human services must be emphasized.
