병원간호사의 근무형태와 주간수면과다증에 따른 직무몰입

초록

본 연구는 병원 근무간호사의 근무형태와 주간수면과다증 및 직무몰입을 확인하고 근무형대와 주간수면과다증에 따른 직무몰입과의 관계를 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 수도권과 지방 소재 대학부속병원 2군데의 근무간호사 250명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 서면동의를 받은 후 자가 보고형식으로 자료수집이 이루어 졌다. 자료수집기간은 2007년 10월 11일에서 2007년 11월 20일 까지 이었으며 연구도구는 Johns(1991)의 Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)과 Kanungo(1981)이 개발한 직무몰입도구를 Kim(1997)이 한국어로 번역 및 간호사 상황에 맞게 수정한 것으로 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 14.0 program을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차를 포함한 서술통계와 t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상자의 근무형태는 3교대 근무인 경우가 172명(68.8%), 주간고정근무인 경우 75명(30.0%), 2교대 근무인 경우가 3명(1.2%)를 차지하여 교대근무간호사가 175명(70.0%)이었다. 둘째, 연구대상자의 주간수면과다증 점수는 5.94(3.28)점이었고, 10점 이상의 주간수면과다증은 13.2%이었고, 직무몰입점수는 21.27(4.61)점이었다. 셋째, 연구대상자의 근무형태에 따라 주간수면과다증(t=4.33, p<.001), 직무몰입(t=-6.54, p<.001) 및 조직몰입(t=-5.40, p<.001)은 유의한 차이를 보였다. 넷째, 연구대상자는 주간수면과다증점수가 높을수록 직무몰입점수(r=-.14, p=.03)가 낮았다. 결론: 이상의 결과로 병원간호사의 근무형태에 따라 주간수면과다증, 직무몰입 및 조직몰입은 차이가 있었다. 따라서 병원간호사의 교대근무라는 현실을 바꿀 수 없다면, 교대근무자의 수면의 질을 향상시키고 업무의 효율을 위해 간호사개인의 노력뿐 아니라 병원, 정부 및 간호단체에서 근무별 업무 강도와 업무량 조절, 탄력 근무제도 도입 등의 대책이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine job involvement according to working pattern and daytime sleepiness in hospital nurses. Methods: At 2 hospitals in affiliation of university, after obtaining participant’s consent form, data were collected from October to November, 2007. Twohundred fifty nurses participated in the study. Questionnaire consisted of Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Job Involvement. Collected data was analyzed with SPSS 14.0 program, which was used for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Major findings of this study were as follows 1) The nurses for 3 shift work was 172 (68.8%), the nurses for 2 shift work was 3 (1.2%) and the nurses for day fixation was 75 (30.0%). 2) Mean of ESS was 5.94 (3.28), daytime sleepiness was 13.2% and Job involvement had a mean of 21.27.±4.61. 3) There were significant differences between shift work and day fixed work on ESS (t=4.33, p<.001), job involvement (t=6.54, p<.001). Higher ESS were significantly related to lower job involvement (r=-.185, p=.003). Conclusion: The finding of this study gives useful informations about sleep and work involvement of hospital nurses. It is need to develop systemic management for shift work nurses by hospital, nurse organization, and government.
