Comparison of Korea and China’s FTA Strategies

This paper presents a concrete map about the effect of K-C FTA on East Asian production network. Comparing with the decrease of Korea and China’s importing shares of final products in some industries, two countries’ importing shares of intermediates in all sectors are positively affected by K-C FTA. For Korea, the imports of textile, chemical, and machinery intermediates are expected to increase greatly. For China, the imports of textile, chemical, machinery, and iron intermediate are expected to increase greatly. China’s increase percentages in all sectors except for electronics are larger than Korea’s. The increase of two countries’ share of intermediates proves the expansion of K-C FTA production network by K-C FTA.
Abstract
FTA는 글로벌시대의 급격한 비즈니스환경 변화속에서 한국과 중국의 전략적 심오한 의미를 갖는다. 본 연구는 한중 FTA협상시 동아시아 생산네트워크 효과에 대한 지침을 제시하였다. 한중무역전환효과에 따른 여러 산업에서 완제품의 한중수입감소가 일어날 것이며, 양국간 중간재 수입량은 한중자유무역협정에 긍정적 영향을 보였다. 한국의 경우, 의류, 화학, 기계 등의 수입은 긍정적 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 중국의 경우, 의류, 화학, 기계, 철강중간재 등의 수입에서 긍정적 결과를 예측하였다. 전자분야를 제외한 모든 분야의 중국 증가량은 한국보다 클 것으로 나왔다. 양국의 중간재는 한중자유무역협정에 따른 한중무역협정 생산네트워크의 확장을 제시하였다.
