진로탐색, 취업준비와 취업성공의 관계: 대학 청년 졸업자를 중심으로

Abstract

In order to analyze the employment determinants of young college graduates, this study aims at dividing Korea into five regions, studying similarities and differences among the regions, and providing the information necessary for the employment policies, universities’ education on career and employment. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that the common effect on employment success had a significant effect on age and parental economic abilities and the students at four-year universities and colleges of education showed lower success in employment than that of the colleges with two or three-year courses. In addition, graduates of national and public universities and colleges showed higher job success than those of private universities. Work experiences, interviews and resume writing, SSAT, volunteer activities, contests, external activities, and resume and interview activities vary by region, and yet, they have significant impacts. For the implications of from the study, as voluntary or involuntary local talent's leaving their regions for job occurs, it is necessary to create jobs for local talent to stay in the region, and employment support policies such as subsidizing job search and training costs for preparing for employment should be strengthened to prevent parents' economic abilities from causing gaps among students in their careers. And due to differences in characteristics, locations, and majors of universities and colleges about their students, it is necessary to consider them, and offer customized education program when providing services for preparing for employment. In addition, the government, universities and colleges, and firms offer students chance and links for experiencing job before determining it, and educate them with the information available for ‘sending signals’ through filling it in their resumes according to companies’ preference.
