이 논문은 애도의 중요성과 기능에 근거해 죽음, 상실, 외상에 대처할 수 있는 사회치유 방향과 원리를 정신분석적으로 제시하려고 한 작업이다. 애도는 개인의 반응처럼 보이지만 상실에 대한 사회적 인정이 전제된 의식적 작업이다. 애도는 상실에 대한 인정뿐 아니라, 문자에 의해 담론의 공간 속에서 거세된 주체로 되는 과정도 포함한다. 이것은 죽음에 대한 관계가 두 차원, 즉 실재적 죽음과기표적 죽음으로 이뤄지기 때문이다. 애도가 없으면 자아 상실의 상태인 멜랑콜리에 빠지거나, 감당하기 힘든 실재가 유령처럼 튀어나와 우리를 덮친다. 사회적인 애도 작업을 통해 우리는 사회 병리와 집단 트라우마 같은 상처를 치유할 수 있다. 모든 정서와 고통을 병리적으로 바라보는 의료 담론이 아니라 죽음과 상실을 욕망으로 승화시키는 애도의 코뮤니타스를 건설하는 것이 대안이다.
Abstract
This paper is a psychoanalytic study of the direction and principle of social healing that can overcome death, loss, and trauma through mourning. Although mourning may appear to be a personal reaction, mourning in actuality assumes of social meaning for the loss. Mourning includes not only the acknowledgment of the loss, but also the process of becoming a castrated subject within the space of discourse through text. This is because the relationship to death consists of two dimensions: actual death and death in the signified dimension. Without mourning, one fall into melancholy ―a state of loss of self―or is haunted by the specter of an unbearable real. Through social mourning, we can heal wounds such as social pathology and group trauma. Rather than a medical discourse that views all emotions and pain from a pathological perspective, an alternative is to construct a Communitas of mourning that sublimates death and loss into desire.
