초록

티칭 포트폴리오는 수업활동 자료를 수집, 선택, 조직화하고 이에 대한 분석적 자아성찰을 통해 향후 교수학습활동을 개선 및 향상시키고자 하는 목적지향적인 자료 모음집으로 교사의 전문성 성장과 발달을 가져 올 수 있다. 티칭 포트폴리오는 1990대 초반에 소개되어 현재 미국의 많은 대학에서 교사들의 전문성 신장과 교수능력 향상을 위한 도구로 널리 활용되고 있으며, 교사에 대한 수행기반 교사평가가 강조되면서 전통적인 평가 대안으로도 활용되고 있다. 특히, 예비교사를 위한 티칭 포트폴리오는 자신의 교수 수행을 기록하게 하고, 강점을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 대학에서 배워 온 이론을 실제 수업에 적용해 봄으로써 교수법에 대해 성찰하게 할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 최근, 우리나라는 교사의 전문성과 교원양성 제도에 관한 지적이 대두되면서 교원양성 교육 프로그램의 개혁과 내실화가 요구되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 미국 대학에서 이미 교사교육 프로그램으로 보편화되고 있는 티칭 포트폴리오를 우리나라 예비교사를 위한 교육에 적용할 수 있는지에 대해 고찰하였다. 연구 목적을 위하여 티칭 포트폴리오의 개념과 유형, 개발과정을 살펴보았으며, 관련 연구와 외국 대학의 사례를 분석함으로써 교사교육에서의 티칭 포트폴리오의 필요성과 효과성, 그리고 교사교육 프로그램에 티칭 포트폴리오를 활용하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

Abstract

Teaching portfolio is a purposeful collection of artifacts which seeks to improve the teaching-learning through collecting, selecting and organizing the instructional activity resources and reflecting them analytically. Teaching portfolio is introduced in the early 1990's and is now being used widely in many colleges in U.S.A. Teaching portfolio is becoming common in teacher education programs for providing evidence of the pre-service teacher's effectiveness, understanding, and improvement of instructional practices and for documenting growth of the pre-service teacher's performance over time. Pre-service teacher enrolled in teacher preparation program create portfolio to demonstrate their knowledge, skill, and attitude related to teaching. Specifically, teacher education program need to prepare their pre-service teachers for the role that technology will have on their learning as well as those they will instruct. In teacher education, digital teaching portfolio is often cited as ways to encourage reflection on learning or teaching practices, opportunity to showcase technology skill, and as tool for seeking employment. And teaching portfolio not only document teaching effectiveness but also provide opportunity for reflection, collegiality, and professional development. The purpose of this study was to develop suggestions to apply digital teaching portfolio for pre-service teacher education program of university in Korea. This study examined the definition and type of the teaching portfolio, development process, the examples of using the portfolio in the other countries and the effectiveness of the teaching portfolio in teacher education.
