2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 『문학 Ⅰ』 교과서의 극 갈래 수업 내용 분석

국어 교과에서는 일반적으로 시나 소설에 비해 희곡을 제재로 선택하는 경우가 극히 드물다. 이에 반해 고등학교 문학 Ⅰ과목은 ‘문학의 갈래’ 수업을 내용체계에 포함시킴으로써 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학교 국어 교과에서는 유일하게 각 갈래별 수업 편성에 비교적 균등한 배분을 시도하였다. 게다가 2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 문학 Ⅰ은 지금까지의 모든 국어 교과목 교과서 중, 권 당 가장 많은 수의 희곡을 수용하는 교재이다. 본고는 문학 Ⅰ교과서 13종을 연구대상으로 삼아, 이들이 담고 있는 극 갈래 (공연예술을 전제로 삼은 극 갈래에 한정시켜) 수업의 전체적 내용과 문제점을 검토하고자 한다. 극 갈래 수업은 크게 세 부분으로 이루어진다. 극 갈래에 대한 서술을 통해 이 갈래의 특성을 이론적으로 체계화하는 내용, 구체적인 작품을 통해 기본 갈래의 특징을 학습하는 내용, 그리고 직접적인 희곡 생산 활동을 통해 극 갈래를 경험하는 내용이다. 본고는 이 세 부분에 대한 세부적인 분석을 통해 극 갈래 수업에 있어서 문학 Ⅰ이 점하는 양적인 우위가 내용적인 내실로 이어졌는가에 대한 비판적 점검을 시도할 것이다.
Abstract
In this paper, the researcher intends to review the whole contents of drama genre classes (limiting to the drama genre whose premise is Performing Arts) and discuss the adequacy of contents by using 13 kinds' high school literature I textbooks that were published according to '2009 revised curriculum. Although new textbooks are expected to be published in 2014, Literature I is the subject that deals with play most importantly among all Korean language subjects for elementary and secondary school students. Even in national textbooks, learning amount of drama genre is far less than that of lyric genre or epic genre. From the time of national textbook system, play that had represented the drama genre handed over its position to the area of media language and lost its footing all the more. Because of such points, Literature 1 textbook can be said as an exception. Unlikely as other ‘literature genres’, literature I course included ‘literature and media’ in its contents system and thereby made relatively balanced composition of each genre. And classes of each drama genre are progressed focusing on play rather than media language. Detailed contents of literature genre classes have to focus on helping students to understand distinctive features of each basic genre. Therefore, in this paper, using this matter as the starting point of discussion, the researcher intended to analyze adequacy of the contents of drama genre classes. Objects for detailed review will be not only the selection criteria of the works that are to be selected as subject matter but also contents of classes of these works, described theory of the play and drama creation instruction. Improvement in the curriculum of Korean language to the progressive direction has to be promoted continuously and discussion of adequacy of the contents of dram genre classes has to be also made from such viewpoint.
