본 연구에서는 2007년 동시에 고시된 초등학교 국어과 1학년 교육과정과 유치원 교육과정의 언 어 생활 영역에 대한 문서의 목차와 구성 요소별 내용 비교를 통하여 양 교육과정의 실질적인 연계 를 도모하고자 하였다. 비교 결과, 국어과와는 달리 언어 생활 영역은 목차에서 평가가 없고, ‘성 격’에 목적이 제시되어 있지 않았으며, ‘내용 체계’ 구성의 이론적 틀이 제시되어 있지 않아, 추후 교육과정 개정 작업에서 보완될 필요가 있었다. ‘내용’에서 국어과는 학년별 내용을, 언어 생활 영 역은 수준별 내용을 제시하고 있었다. 이는 양 학교급의 특성에 기인한 것으로, 이 점은 각각의 독 자성이 존중되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study compared the contents and organizations of the Korean language curriculum for first graders and the language curriculum for kindergarten children. This comparison, based on the elementary school and kindergarten curriculums promulgated simultaneously in 2007, was aimed at ensuring practical linkage between the two curriculums. This study found that unlike the elementary school curriculum, the kindergarten curriculum for the language area did not mention the need for an evaluation system in its general guidelines. The kindergarten curriculum also did not present goals in its “characteristics” section. Nor did it present theoretical frameworks regarding “content organization”. These points should be considered in revising the curriculum in the future. As for the “contents”, the Korean language curriculum for elementary schools presented contents by grades, while the language curriculum for kindergartens presented contents by levels. These differences should be respected as characteristics of kindergartens and elementary schools.
