Abstract
The purpose of this study is to critically review the current discussions about workplace innovation and, based on it, to detect some policy directions required for the expansion of workplace innovation. Especially it is stressed the necessity of comprehensive understanding on the relationship between workplace innovation and business innovation on the whole and the relationship between each workplace and surrounding institutional environments. Also it should be took into accounts the possibility of discordance between employers and trade union on the workplace innovation issues. These things imply that the redesign for current policy for workplace innovation should include the reconsideration of the relationship between workplace innovation and industrial relations issues on the one hand, and the broadening and connection of related policies for the successful implementation of workplace innovation on the other hand.
