본 연구는 우리나라 노동시장 내 성별 직종분리를 1993～2013년 기간 동안의 지수 변화 추이를 통해 살펴보고, 변화 원인을 탐구하고자 수행되었다. 세분화된 직종 코드와 대량의 관측치를 제공하는 고용노동부의「고용형태별 임금실태조사(임금구조)」자료를 활용하여 성별 직종분리 지수의 도출 및 기간 간 분해를 수행하였고, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 성별 직종분리는 노동시장 전체 근로자 대상 분석에서는 완화되는 경향이 나타났으나, 학력별로 구분하여 살펴본 결과 대졸 미만과 대졸 이상 집단의 지수가 분석기간 동안 등락을 거듭하고 있어 1993년과 2013년의 지수에서 큰 차이를 발견할 수 없었다. 둘째, 지수 분해를 성 비중 효과와 직종규모 효과로 살펴본바, 직종규모 효과는 전 분석 기간 동안 분리지수를 감소시키는 방향으로 작용하고 있었으나, 성 비중 효과는 그와 반대로 분리지수를 증가시키는 움직임을 보였다.
Abstract
In this study, occupational segregation by gender examine though the Duncan-Index for 1993-2013 period and find an sources of the changing index. Using LCET(published by Korea Ministry of Employment and Lbor) that provide 3-digit job code and innumerable observations, estimate the Duncan-Index and the index decomposition. The results as follow. Firstly, the occupational segregation by gender was improved in the period, but considering the education levels, each group’s indexes not show interesting change because the indexes fluctuate during every year. Secondly, Decomposing the index with the sex-composition and the occupation-mix component, the occupation-mix effect works the index decline and the sex-composition almost coincidentally moves counter to other effect.
