한국행정학자의 『논어』 읽기: 한국의 유교적 행정 연구 검토

본 연구에서는 유교적 행정을 논하는 한국행정학자들의 『논어』 읽기를 비판적으로 검토하였다. 『논어』 읽기의 방법에 따라, 『논어』에 나타나는 유교에 대한 이해가 달라진다고 보고, 한국 행정연구를 위한 바람직한 읽기 『논어』가 무엇인가를 모색하였다. 유교적 인간을 만드는 전통적이고 종교적 독법과 독자 자신의 생각을 정당화하기 위해, 『논어』를 부분적으로 읽는 ‘골동품 샤핑하기’식의 『논어』독서보다는 지금의 한국행정을 성찰하고 변화를 모색할 수 있는 『논어』 읽기를 제안한다.
Abstract
This is a literature review on Confucian public administration research in Korea. Especially, the review focuses on its readings of the Analects of Confucius which is one of the Four Books of Confucian literature. Three kinds of readings are discussed: 1) a traditional reading which does not allow critical or subjective interpretations on the text; 2) a partially interpretive reading; and 3) a comprehensively reflexive reading.
