〈元經世大典地理圖〉에 나오는 지명의 조사와 〈混一疆理歷代國都之圖〉 서역지명과의 비교

Abstract

Wonkyungsedaijunjirido (元經世大典地理圖) is an old map presented in the book Kyungsedaijun (經世大典) in Chinese Yuan (元) Dynasty. It describes western and middle China and Middle East area where Mongolian power reached in the golden age in 13th century. Although there is no description of boundaries, mountains, rivers but lots of place names are described in the map impling the Mongolian territory. In the present study, the author has studied the place names of Wonkyungsedaijunjirido and compared with current place names. Other references named History of Yuan Dynasty (元史) and Seubukjibulok (西北之附錄) of Jiriji (Treatise on Geography) (地理志) and current identify of the old name place were also used for comparison of the old place names. The author also compared the old place names on the map Wonkyungsedaijunjirido to the names on the map HonilGangniYeokdaeGukdoJido (Map of Integrated Lands and Regions of Historical Countries and Capitals) (混一疆理歷代國都之圖) and Wonkyungsedaijunjirido in the early Joseon Dynasty of Korea.
