Abstract
This essay is to explore the relation between emotion and essential of appreciation based on Kendal L. Walten’s the theory of make-believe game. Such points mean that we have been in fictional emotion by our imagination reading and seeing the art, although the expression comes from the art can be fictional ontologically. The vital point is that such fictional emotion reflected on our real life moves to be carried on real emotion. In this viewpoint, it is clearly that there is no fictional emotion. Today, the art leads to appreciation art such as viewer’s active intervention and aesthetic experience. In appreciation the arts, the situation which we are as viewer in includes emotional sympathy beyond cognition which is not separate from expressional meaning. That is to say, fiction is that something we have already experienced and that something we have desires, so the problem of fiction is not only the represented object, but also is related to viewer’s consciousness that the subject’s response in terms of cognitive science and psychology and so on. This research are deeply connected with the explanation of aesthetic experience including information, emotion, behaviour, and judgment. Viewer’s interest, belief and emotion work in simulation, looking at the artistic context and contents which form fiction. This simulation from mind is much more important to our real desire in life and to contain internationality in judgment. In this line, this essay will suggest that our judgment of love is depended on narrative form in the arts. The idea of love is depicted in popularity and is being decent by roman and love affair. These subjects by being dealt with novel, drama let our belief and idea of life push up to fantasy and to be in the corner of prejudicial relation. Such impacts of fiction about emotion including love, sorrow, and delight and so on can let us induce being judgment on reality. Cognitive theory of emotion insists that the contents in visual arts and novel could make peoples’ ideas and believes being transformative popularity. Fiction can be the device of belief that can affect the true and false in reality, which is able to induce interpretation and distortion. Therefore, popularization of unified emotion under commercialism in public media should need being paid attention to the expression and description of emotion.
