색채와 의식 - 20세기 초의 신지학이론을 중심으로

색채는 신지학에서 절대의식이 정신과 물질로 분화되 면서 생성된 것으로서 의식의 일부를 이루는 것이다. 색채는 신지학에 의하면 절대의식이 분리되는 순간 분화되어 나온 것으로 빛이 프리즘을 통과하여 일곱 빛깔의 색으로 분리되듯이 정신과 물질도 동전의 앞 뒷면과 같이 일곱 개의 층위로 분리된다. 또한 각각의 층위는 각 의식에 상응하는 에너지의 파장을 가지고 눈에 보이는 물질세계에서도 그렇듯이 눈에 보이지 않는 물질세계에 이르기까지 무지개와 같이 일곱 빛 깔의 색채의 층위를 이루며, 각각의 의식 상태를 지니 며 작용하는 것이다. 생각과 감정은 색채의 질과 형태를 띠며 추상적인 것이 아니라 물질적인 사물로서 시공을 넘어 사방으 로 방사되며 자신은 물론 타인에게도 영향을 주는 것 이다. 그것들은 물질계와 마찬가지로 우주에너지의 분산법칙에 의해 카르마의 법칙에 지배를 받는 것이 다. 카르마는 행위나 감정의 구속이 아닌 절대의식이 분화되어 의식의 진화를 통해 자각을 이루기 위한 우 주의 법칙인 것이다. 물질은 에테르의 거품을 통해 형 성된 일종의 전자로서 외부로부터 들어오는 빛의 요 소들과 함께 감응하며 순환하는 결정화된 빛이며, 우 리의 자아 또한 절대의식이 분화되는 순간 물질의 원 자들과 함께 제2로고스의 생명의 활력을 받으며, 제1 로고스의 분신인 모나드와 함께 개체화된 개별적인 의식들로서 진화를 통해 근원에서는 물질과 동일한 실체인 것이다. 정신과 물질이 절대의식으로부터 분화되어 의식의 진화를 통해 자각해 간다는 하나의 상징물로서 인간 의 인체에 있는 꼬리뼈에서부터 정수리에 이르는 일 곱 개의 차크라의 색채들은 이를 입증하는 것이다. 색 채는 신지학에 있어서 정신과 물질이 하나인 절대의 식이 생명을 지닌 의식체로 분화해가는 데에 있어서 형태와 질을 결정하는 필수불가결한 요소인 것이다. 색채는 물질이면서도 정신의 속성을 지닌 것으로 우 리의 의식 상태를 가늠할 수 있는 하나의 나침반이 되 는 것이다.
Abstract
In theosophy, color is created when Absolute consciousness is divided into mind and matter, and forms part of our consciousness. Just as light is divided into seven colors when passing through a prism, mind and matter has seven layers like the two sides of a coin. Each layer has the waves of energy corresponding to each consciousness, forms the seven layers of rainbow colors in the range of visible or invisible material worlds, and operates in the state of consciousness. Thought and emotion take on the quality and form of color. They are not abstract but material things, being radiated toward the four directions beyond space and time. Influenced by themselves of course, and the others, they are governed by the principle of dispersing cosmic energy and karma. Matter is not a particle occupying a post in space, but an electron formed through absolute consciousness and luminiferous ether, light-bearing, crystallized ether that responds to the elements of external light. Seven major chakra colors, believed to exist in the human body from the forehead to coccyx are thought of as the symbols to which the principle of the Trinity is applied. When humans are in a complete balance or reach their full consciousness, the chakra is in full blossom, and the colors of an aurora turn to white by incorporating all hues. Anyway colours have an attributes of matter and mind and are an compass which mesures the states of our consciousness.
