복합적 산업재산권 보유가 기업 성장에 미치는 영향 연구

지식이 핵심 생산요소의 하나로 인식되는 지식기반경제 하에서, 무형자산의 역할이 중시되고 있으며, 특히 권리의 법적 근거를 갖고 있는 지식재산권이 적극적으로 활용되고 있다. 최근 기술의 융⋅복합화 등 환경 변화에 따라 권리를 복합적으로 보유하는 기업이 늘어나는 가운데, 본 논문에서는 지식재산권 중 산업재산권(특허, 디자인, 상표 등)을 복합적으로 보유하는 것이 기업 성과에 유의미한지 확인하고자 하였다. 통계청 기업활동조사 중 제조업 분야의 데이터를 활용하여 기업의 산업재산권 복합적 보유와 기업 성장 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 프로빗 분석 결과, 기업이 산업재산권 중 두 가지 이상의 권리유형을 보유한 경우, 3년 뒤(t+3기)의 매출과 고용 성장 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 중소기업에서 권리의 복합적 보유에 따른 기업 성장 가능성이 보다 높은 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 산업재산권을 복합적으로 보유하는 것이 기업의 후속 성장에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있음을 실증적으로 확인하였다는 데에 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This paper dealt with the relationships between the growth of firms and their industrial property rights(IPR bundling) using ‘survey of business activities' data. The results showed firms that own industrial property rights bundle (for example, own both patents and trademarks) are more likely to growth than other firms. In particular, it was found that SMEs which own IPR bundle have a higher likely to growth than other SMEs.
