초록
This paper is a follow-up to the previously published 'Translation and annotation of Lu You(陸游)'s Zha Zi Wen[箚子文](1),' Aimed at studying the military thoughts contained in the letters of Lu You. The author's focus on Lu You's letters begins with his recognition as a patriotic poet. Many scholars explain Lu You's status as a patriotic poet by always citing his poetic works as examples. However, it is unlikely that a literary figure filled with patriotic thought expressed it solely in poetry. Naturally, it is believed that his prose works also contain patriotic themes. The expression of patriotic thought ultimately manifests as reflections and suggestions regarding national issues, and during the Southern Song period, when it was in conflict with the Jin dynasty, discussions about military matters would have been of utmost priority. Against this backdrop, the author posits that, as the editor of the Privy Council, Lu You would have addressed many national issues related to military affairs in the letters he wrote to the emperor, and thus has prioritized them as a subject of study.
