Abstract

Recently, High Performance Work System(HPWS) is one of the most interesting issues in HRM field. This study has a two-fold purpose: to investigate whether HPWS affect employee attitudes in the hotel industry and to identify the mediating role of manager trust on the relationship between HPWS and employee attitudes. The results, based on a sample of 417 employees across 109 hotel firms, indicate that HPWS is strongly related to employee attitudes. First, organization commitment and manager trust is positively related to the HPWS, while turnover intentions is negatively related to the HPWS. Second, manager trust mediates the influence of HPWS on employee attitudes. Finally, implication, limitation of this study and future research are discussed in conclusion session.
