글로벌 금융위기 전⋅후 국내 생명보험산업의 생산성 변화에 대한 연구

본 연구는 글로벌 금융위기 전⋅후 생산성 변화를 살펴보고 생산성 향상을 위한 전략적시사점을 제시하기 위해, 생명보험회사를 대상으로 2003년부터 2015년까지 13년간생산성 변화를 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 분석 기간 동안 평균 MPI 변화는 1.022로평균 2.2% 성장하였고, 평균 MPI 변화가 상승한 것은 기술 변화의 평균이 상승한 것이주요 원인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 글로벌 금융위기 전⋅후 생산성 변화를 살펴보면, 금융위기 이후 MPI 변화와 기술변화는 모두 성장하였으나, 기술효율성 변화는 모두퇴보한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 글로벌 금융위기 전⋅후 평균 생산성변화에 차이가 있는지통계적 검정위해 Mann-Whitney 검정으로 살펴본 결과 기술 변화를 제외하고는 모든평균 생산성 변화에는 통계적으로 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 글로벌 금융위기후 생산성 향상을 위한 보험산업의 전략적 시사점으로 규모의 적정화, 업무프로세스의효율화, 해외시장 개척, 고령층 대상 신상품 및 서비스 개발, 저비용 고효율의 경영관리등을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study is to analysis the productivity change of life insurance before and after global financial crisis. we use Malmquist Productivity Index(MPI) model to measure productivity change and data on 21 life insurance compamy from 2003 to 2015. The empirical results are summarized as follow: First, Average MPI change was improved by 1.022 because of average technical change(1.071) improvement rather than average technical efficiency change(0.954) improvement. Second, Average MPI and average technical change before and after global financial crisis were improved but average technical efficiency change was deteriorated. Third, we use Mann-Whitneytest for comparing the productivity change before and after global financial crisis. The result shows that the productivity change makes no a clear difference except technical change. Fourth, we are proposed policy suggestions for improving productivity after the global financial crisis.
