본 연구는 글로벌 금융위기 이후 국내 21개 생명보험회사를 대상으로 방사적 모형과비방사적 모형을 이용하여 효율성을 비교하고, 효율성 분해와 회귀분석을 통해 효율성향상을 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. 분석결과 방사적 모형에 의한 평균 DEA-CCR 효율성은 9.5%의 비효율성이 존재함을 보여주고 있고, 비방사적 SBM-CCR효율성은15.7%의 비효율성이 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 규모의 수익 효과를 살펴보면 CRS가약 47.6%, DRS가 약 33.3%, IRS가 19.1%를 차지하고 있다. 방사적 모형과 비방사적모형 간의 효율성 차이를 순위합 검증(rank-sum test) 분석결과 CCR, BCC, SE 효율성모두 방사적 모형과 비방사적 모형 간에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 효율성 분해결과비효율성은 혼합효율성에서 순수 기술효율성과 규모효율성 보다 더 높게 나타났다. 효율성결정요인과 관련 투입･산출요소를 중심으로 토빗모형(tobit model)을 이용하여 회귀분석결과 모집인 비율은 모든 효율성에서 부(-)의 관계를 보여주고 있고, 운용자산이익률과인당 수입보험료는 모든 효율성에 대해 정(+)의 관계를 보여주고 있다. 사업비율은 BCC 효율성에서만 정(+)의 관계를 보여주고 있으나 비유의적이었다. 효율성 증대를 위한 정책적시사점으로 집중화 전략, 전사적 혁신관리, 차별화 및 특화 전략, convergence를 통한종합적 서비스 개발, ICT개발, 빅데이터를 이용한 서비스 개발 등을 제시하였다
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the efficiency of the domestic life insurance industry since the global financial crisis. We have analyzed the efficiency of life insurance companies from 2009 to 2015. We have measured the efficiency by using radial model and radial non-medial. The empirical results show the following findings. First, the average efficiency by DEA-CCR of radial-model shows the inefficiency of 9.5%. and SBM-CCR of non-radial model efficiency shows the in efficiency of 15.7%. Second, we use rank-sum test for comparing the DEA score of radial model and non-radial model. The result showed no differences at the significance level 5 %. Third, Tobit regression model shows that premium income and profit rate of invested assets are positive (+) for all efficiency. Fourth, we proposed a focus strategy, total innovation management, differentiation and characterization strategy, convergency strategy, ICT development, big data strategy to increase efficiency. Even though this study is not satisfactory and insufficiency, the results of this study will be helpful to further studies in this field.
